Sven's e30 M30

This BMW comes lives in its Motherland. And Sven has put a lot of time and effort into making it just the way he likes it. This pristine e30 started out life with a different color skin. Originally, this Royalblau Metallic e30 pulled a Michael Jackson and lightened its complexion to a clean Alpinweiß II.

Sven also bought his lovely car a new pair of shoes, Alpina Wheels, 7&8x16 to be exact. But, the customization did not stop there. The original heart of the car was a M20B25/27 2.7L engine. Sven needed more and transplanted a completely dismantled M30B35 from a 1990 535 and built it up. I am sure Sven had fun putting the engine back together and learning all about the famed M30. He had done a great job documenting the build and was kind enough to send us some eye candy!

Sven really put some love and elbow grease into this M30. Just look at it. Completely fresh and clean. Some times you just have to look at it, thats all you can do. If you want to look at more photo's, here is a link to SVEN's Flickr album

The fun does not stop there:

I stumbled across the Miller MAF conversion long before I did the M30 conversion, and actually I wanted to put the kit on my M20 already. So I first ordered the MAF sensor itselfs, in order to tune it for myself. The engine was intended to be supercharged, but things changed, so I also ordered the ECU software. Miller Performance, in person Brody, was always very responsive and helpful, even though I think I sometimes was pretty annoying - Brody had nerves of steel answering all my mails! ;-)

Sven's e30 M30 makes great power too! 220HP and about 258ft/lbf to be exact! Sven had the car dyno'd and was pleased with the final results.

The europeans measure power in kW and Nm of torque the graph shows what he made and the easy conversion from kW to HP shows the 220 HP and 258 ft. lbs!
