It's a Keeper!
I had a for sale sign in my window. I was going to get a 540i/6 and rock out, but after the MAF, I just took it out. I'm going to keep the car and start saving my pennies for a rebuild and a turbo set up from you guys.
Keeping 535 customers happy all over the globe.
I've just come back from a couple of highway runs, and all the while as contemplating the increases, while weighing if they were perceived or actual. My thoughts are something like this:
As the owner and every day driver of an auto-tragic 535 that's getting pretty old, it used to be very, very sluggish around town. Coming from a stoplight was disappointing, as my car (and I'm sure most others) didn't begin to shine until it came "on-cam" around 3500rpm. At that point there was a new feeling, where the power finally kicked in and it was as if you were being pushed back in your seat, literally. Nothing violent like a turbo kicking in, but it was still noticeable.
Now that I've successfully installed your MAF conversion, I no longer have to wait for that sluggishness and period of boredom to be over. In my opinion the most gains are felt from 0-40mph. I now get going very quickly, even at 1/2 throttle. This whole test was only done driving around my street. From there, I hit the highway; which was stopped dead. Again the Miller MAF's improvements came in handy, when I saw an opening in the left lane and went for it. There was no hesitation and I was into my spot, quicker than expected. It finally opened up, and I had a chance to go from 0-125mph (speedo indicated). I got there, and how, with what felt like a lot of room to spare, as the car was still pulling hard. It's incredible what a small modification can do to an old car.
Thanks guys, I am officially loyal to Miller Performance.
