Superior Charge CoolingRunning a turbo, you really need to cool the charging air. It can get above 250°F and that will rob your engine of power. Conventional Air to Air inter-coolers are becoming a thing of the past. With our knowledge in the turbo engine field, Air to Air seems like an irrelevant technology to use in our systems. Air to liquid, yet still new, is obviously the right choice and will soon be the standard for charge cooling. As the Graph illustrates, the temperature of the charge before any sort of cooling is above 200°F. After our inter-cooler, we were able to drop the temperature to a maximum of 120°F! Furthermore, with our water injection system, we were able to cool the charge to a brisk 90°F. As you can see, the charge temperature is very constant, meaning you will get the real performance your engine is capable of. No tapering off due to timing retard. Sitting in traffic is a problem for air to air inter-coolers as well. The heat soak experienced is detrimental to your engines performance. With the air to liquid system, heat soak is kept to a bare minimum and virtually unnoticeable. This will ensure that no matter what driving condition you are experiencing, our air to liquid cooling system will keep your BMW performing to its full potential. |
